Pay It Forward – Virtual Hugs for Heroes (National Nurses Day)

Uncategorized

National Nurses Day is celebrated in May of each year as a part of National Nurses Week. This is the time where people all across the United States come together to celebrate nurses for their hard work and dedication. Now especially, frontline workers are crucial in how our country recovers from the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic that has killed almost 100,000 people. Many nurses and doctors are working around the clock and urging people to stay home to help flatten the curve.

Easterns Automotive Group along with their Pay It Forward partner Fox 5 DC decided to team up for something special. Maureen Umeh of Good Day DC took Fox 5 cameras with her as she visited the University of Maryland Prince George?s Hospital Center in Cheverly, Maryland. She was greeted by CEO, Dr. Joseph Wright along with an army of nurses. Joel Bassam of Easterns Automotive Group joined in via video call to announce that they purchased over 100 jars of Combat Ready hand balm from Skincando for all of the frontline workers and essential staff.? Constant handwashing can leave your hands extremely dry so this moisturizer will be perfect.? The entire UM staff was truly grateful for the kind gesture.

Please continue to wash your hands, wear your mask, and practice social distancing!

STAY SAFE EVERYONE!

If you know someone in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area that goes above and beyond the call and is worthy of being recognized,?Click here?to nominate them.

Watch the video to see the way everything unfolded.

Throwback Thursday Clip of the Week: Comedian Harland William Dances to the Easterns Jingle

Uncategorized

We hope that you all are enjoying your week! It?s time for yet another Throwback Thursday clip of the week brought to you by Easterns Automotive Group (Eastern Motors). Back in 2008, Easterns recruited comedian Harland Williams to create a unique commercial. Aside from being a comedian, Williams is also an actor that has numerous movie roles dating back to 1994. Some of his most notable roles include Dumb and Dumber, Half Baked, and Employee of the Month. As a comedian, Williams has performed his stand-up on shows like Late Night with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Late Night with Conan just to name a few. It?s clear that he has a gift!

For the commercial, Williams dressed up as a scientist in a white lab coat and danced around to the Easterns jingle. The clip couldn?t have been funnier because he is such a natural. At the end of the clip, Williams urges customers to choose Easterns because of the large inventory. If ever you need a good laugh, this is the clip for you. Remember, choose Easterns! www.easterns.com

Brendan Haywood Sits Inside of a Mini Cooper

Uncategorized

We are back with another Throwback Thursday Clip from Eastern Motors. This week, we have Brendan Haywood who is a former center for the Washington Wizards. Easterns built a great relationship with Haywood during his time because not only was he local, but he accomplished great milestones with the Wizards. Being that Easterns has always been a big supporter of all the teams and players in the area, they thought that Haywood would be a great addition to the Easterns family.

Haywood?s 7 ft height was always a physical feature that he to use to his advantage on the basketball court. This didn?t work when he tried to fit inside of a Mini Cooper during his commercial shoot with Easterns. Even though he was able to fit inside the car, he had very little room left to maneuver and be comfortable. The car salesmen walked him through the perks of having a Mini Cooper such as great gas mileage, tax breaks on emissions, and the affordable price tag. However, even these great perks couldn?t prevent Haywood from saying that he needed a car that was better for his size. After searching the dealership, he found a Cadillac Escalade that fit him comfortably. It?s great for customers to see that Easters has cars, trucks, and SUVs that fit everyone?s size and budget.
