Throwback Thursday Clip of the Week: First Ever Eastern Motors Commercial

Thursday is upon us! It?s only right that we bring you guys another Throwback Thursday Clip of the week presented by Easterns Automotive Group. In case you aren?t familiar, Easterns Automotive Group (Eastern Motors) is a premiere car dealership with 6 locations that has been serving hard working men and women of DC, Maryland, and Virginia for over 30 years now. We thought it would only be right to take you back and show you how Easterns got to where it is today. There would be no present without the past. The clip that was chosen is from 1993 and is the very first televised Eastern Motors commercial. The first noticeable thing in the video is the age of the cars that were shown throughout the commercial. It?s a testament to how much time has changed and how much cars have advanced from several years ago. The video quality in the commercial is not the HD quality that we are used today; in fact, it is quite blurry. Technology in 1993 of course was far less advanced than it is in 2018. However, it makes for great content because it brings back a feeling of nostalgia. Clips like this take you back in your mind and make you reminisce about what you were doing or where you were in life during that particular time period. People are now able to see the evolution of Easterns starting with the very first commercial and compare it to the more recent ones. Even though the two are night and day, there is one thing that stayed the same. ?Eastern Motors, your job is your credit!? The slogan was the same in 1993 as it is in 2018. It?s clear that Easterns owner and CEO Robert Bassam started Easterns with vision that he has been able to successfully execute throughout the years. Easterns has always been a car dealership that has been for the people and it?s clear that won?t be changing any time soon.

Pay It Forward |DC Seniors in need receive help from non-profit, Embracing Our Pearls of Wisdom.

Easterns Automotive Group and Fox 5 DC recently came together to highlight a local woman who is helping to pay it forward to seniors of Washington D.C. Norma Hardie is the founder of a non-profit organization called Embracing Our Pearls of Wisdom. Hardie?s purpose for creating this non-profit was to help seniors in the District and surrounding areas with assistance or small things that they need. One great thing is that Hardie has loyal volunteers to help the seniors cook meals, run errors, and even clean. Older people need help sometimes and don?t always have the luxury of having a family member or friend to assist them.
It?s very important to recognize the needs of the elderly because they are the ones who raised the youth. A woman by the name of Arthalia Pumphrey receives excellent care from the volunteers that help her clean and keep her home in good shape. She suffers from really bad arthritis so it is difficult to walk at times. The volunteers believe in being patient with the seniors and take pride in showing them that they will forever be loved. We definitely could use more people like Hardie and her incredible volunteers in this world.

Fox 5 DC and Easterns Automotive Group caught wind of Hardie and what she has been doing with her volunteers at Our Pearls of Wisdom and wanted to pitch in and help. The Pay It Forward partners donated a $1,000 check, gifts for the seniors, and even gas cards to help with the volunteers travel.

If you know someone in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area that goes above and beyond the call and is worthy of being recognized, Click Here to nominate them. Watch the video to how everything unfolded.

Proud customer shares his car buying experience at Easterns Automotive Group (Eastern Motors)

After being in business for over 30 years, Easterns can definitely attribute majority of the success to having such amazing customers. They have always been a company that cares deeply about their customers as well as the opinions and feedback that they have regarding their visits. Easterns caught up with Charles Tyson of Fairfax, Virginia to discuss his most recent car buying experience. Tyson is currently a college student and a photographer for his school. When Tyson came to Easterns to purchase his vehicle, he was looking for a more practical vehicle to suit his college life. The Honda Civic ended up being his choice and he is absolutely thrilled about his decision. Tyson smiled from ear to ear during the sit down because this was his first time buying a vehicle. He did let us know how much he enjoyed the customer service that he received from the Easterns staff. It is very important that customers feel welcome when they arrive and throughout the entire car buying process. Tyson mentioned how much he loves the jingle commercials with the players of the Washington Redskins. On behalf of the Easterns staff, we must thank him for being such a great customer and a long time supporter of Easterns Automotive Group.
