6 Seconds with Kirk Cousins of the Washington Football Team

Kirk Cousins of the Washington Football Team recently came to the Eastern Motors headquarters in Sterling, Virginia to film a series of commercial spots. Cousins was welcomed with open arms by the entire Easters staff. According to Joel Bassam (Director of Marketing at Easterns), ?Kirk is family at this point. We absolutely love having him on board with Easterns.? Cousins even brought two of his Redskins teammates Josh Norman and Ryan Kerrigan with him to shoot their own commercials for Easterns as well. These three collectively make up what is known as Easterns All Star Team. Each of these guys has such a unique personality and sense of humor that meshes perfectly when they are all together. They each shot their own individual commercials that will be posted in the next few weeks but we first wanted to share Cousins? 6 Seconds. This is just a brief introduction and a small preview of many come. Just know that they all bring something different to the table. Stay tuned for more!

Throwback Thursday Clip of the Week: Kirk Cousins for Easterns

We?re back again with another Throwback Thursday Clip of the Week from Easterns. This week, we have none other than quarterback for the Washington Redskins, Kirk Cousins. Easterns recruited Cousins to first star in their commercials back in 2016. During this same time, they also recruited Josh Norman, cornerback for Washington Redskins and Ryan Kerrigan, linebacker for the Washington Redskins. As a collective, the three players make up what is known as the Easterns All Star Team. They each starred in several commercials both individually and together as a group that are very popular amongst Redskins fans, Easterns fans, and people of the DC, Maryland, and Virginia community. In this clip, Cousins tosses a football around while discussing the importance of growth and hard work as it pertains to his career. He was able to connect the dots and let the audience know that he too faces obstacles but he refuses to give up. The overall theme of the clip sent a clear message to people in the community because they too know the struggles that life brings but believe in the idea of working hard for what you want. Easterns sells cars to the hard working men and women in the DMV area.

Pay It Forward | Suprising Price George?s County Seniors

Easterns Automotive Group and Fox 5 DC set out to start 2018 with a bang! The two Pay It Forward partners recently came together to do some good in the community. They did so by surprising a group of seniors in Prince George?s County, Maryland. These seniors dedicate their time and energy by consistently coming to waterworks Zumba class at Sport Fit in Bowie, Maryland. It?s great to see that they are staying active and encouraged, despite their age. Clearly, the exercise along with having so much fun is what is keeping them young. The class is taught twice a week by Jewell Webb. She makes a conscience effort to keep the group motivated and encourages everyone to be positive. Webb has a unique prospective because she knows what is going on in all of her student?s lives. She sees various students going through the obstacles and challenges of life but still finding the time to give back and help others. Webb said that even she is inspired by her student?s selfless commitment to the community and their families.

Mouths dropped when Allison Seymour of Fox 5 DC walked in to the waterworks Zumba class with camera crews present alongside Joel Bassam, Director of Marketing for Easterns Automotive Group. The two teamed up to pay the January fees for all of the members so that they continue to stay motivated and strive to reach for their 2018 health and fitness goals. Everyone was thrilled and very appreciative of the generous deed.

Throwback Thursday Clip of the Week: Gilbert Gottfried is angry!

We?re back with a brand new Throwback Thursday clip of the week. The star of this clip is American stand-up comedian, actor, and voice actor by the name of Gilbert Gottfried. Gottfried is most known for his sketches on Saturday Night Live (SNL) as well as his roles in several movies such as Problem Child 1 & 2, Aladdin, and Dr. Dolittle just to name a few. Gottfried took advantage of having a unique voice by doing voiceovers for cartoons, various television shows, and movies. Eastern Motors just knew that he would be a perfect fit to convey the message of their brand. Back in 2012, Easterns sought out Gottfried to star in this particular clip. Gottfried had an angry tone in the video due to him convincing people as to why they should buy from Easterns. He managed to point out nothing but facts when he spoke. It?s true, buying a 1 owner car from Easterns saves the customer 50% on average than buying a new car. Easterns Automotive Group has served the DC, Maryland, and Virginia communities for over 30 years now and has sold over 100,000 certified used vehicles. Easterns has every car that you can possibly imagine with 5 convenient locations in the DMV area with a 6th location coming in early 2018. Please click here to see both our locations and our current inventory.

6 Seconds with Ryan Kerrigan of the Washington Football Team

Ryan Kerrigan of the Washington Football Team recently came to the Eastern Motors headquarters in Sterling, Virginia to film a series of commercial spots. One great thing about Kerrigan is that he?s not going to associate himself with anything that he doesn?t believe in. He is very passionate about the Easterns brand and what it represents not only people of his caliber but also those in the community. This clip is just one of a series of commercials that include not only Kerrigan but also two of his teammates, Kirk Cousins and Josh Norman. This trio makes up what is known as the Easterns All-Star Team. Whenever Easterns can manage to get these guys together off the field, you can be sure there will be nothing but nonstop laughs and fun. We wanted to share this commercial first to get you all excited about the greatness that is to come. Remember, this is only the beginning ? Stay tuned for more!

Throwback Thursday Clip of the Week | Santana Moss challenges a Lamborghini to a race

Happy New Year to all! We wanted to kick off our first Throwback Thursday with someone very special by the name of Santana Moss. Moss had an incredible 10 year run playing for the Washington Redskins. Many would love to say that they made at least half of the impact that Moss on the team and the entire Redskins organization. Moss is the current host of Redskins Shop Talk on NBC Sports. He definitely stuck around way longer than his time in the league. Moss is now able to give his thoughts, opinion, and critique to current players of the Redskins as well as other NFL teams. It?s always great to hear the prospective of an actual player himself that knows the game and the feeling of being on top. This particular throwback video was shot back in 2007 during a time where you couldn’t go anywhere in the DMV (DC, Maryland, and Virginia) area where you couldn’t go anywhere without seeing someone wearing a Moss jersey. He was and still is beloved in the community by Redskins fans which is one of the reasons beyond just his awesome skills that Easterns wanted him to star in a commercial.
In this clip, Moss is seen going back and forth with a Lamborghini that is revving its engine. Moss starts to throw out his stats to basically let the Lamborghini know who’s boss. He made brief mention of having over 300 catches and over 4,700 yards. Of course these numbers aren’t accurate to date but they were back in 2007 when the commercial was filmed. The Lamborghini continued to rev its engine and rile Moss up. Moss then challenged the Lamborghini to a race by saying? Let’s see what you got!? He wasted no time taking off and was well in motion before the Lamborghini could get off the ground. There was no denying that Moss was one of the best in the league with his skill and his speed. An incredible talent!

Customer Testimonial | Brittany Vergara

When having a business, it?s always important to sit down with your customers to get their opinion on their overall experience as well as the service that they received. Easterns Automotive Group has always been a company that appreciates and values their customers input. Brittany Vergara of Centreville, Virginia recently had the opportunity to sit down with Easterns and discuss her visit. Vergara discussed how nice it was to walk into a car dealership and not be pressured into buying. Instead, she felt very relaxed and was able to make the best possible decision for herself at the time. She and her husband recently had a baby so it was time for them to get rid of their comfortable and purchase a Ford. Both Vergara and her husband are very pleased with the Easterns experience and have recommended them to their very own friends and family. According to Vergara, ?Everyone needs a car at some point in their life? might as well go to Easterns because they were great.? We couldn?t agree with you more! #TeamEasterns

Pay It Forward | Surprising a Virginia family in need

The holidays are a time of giving and helping those in need. Easterns Automotive Group and Fox 5 DC felt compelled to do just that with this family featured in this edition of Pay It Forward. The team got wind of Olivia Parkman, a Virginia mother of four, regarding a car accident that the family was involved in last year. The accident occurred on June 11th, 2016 in Alabama and resulted in the Parkmans losing their daughter in the crash. It has been over a year since her death, but of course the family is still struggling to heal. To make matters worse, the family has not had a car due to their previous vehicle being totaled in the crash. The money that they received from the insurance company was not nearly enough to get another car.

As a mother, Olivia is doing the best she can to stay strong for her 3 remaining children and provide the best possible life she can for them. Her sons have been receiving grief counseling through Capital Caring in Northern Virginia. Olivia would love to attend counseling as well but does not have the proper transportation to get there. The good folks at Capital Caring reached out to folks in the community to share her story and see if there was any way that people could help. Easterns Automotive Group received word about the Parkmans through Extreme Custom Collisions in Woodbridge, Virginia. Once they heard the story, they decided that they were going to do something special to make Christmas special for the Parkmans and help end their year on a great note. They donated a Honda Accord to the family to get back on their feet and provide the transportation that they need as a family.

When watching the video, you will see raw emotions because no one had any idea what was happening until it happened. Even Fox 5 DC?s Allison Seymour was both emotional and in shock because this was just truly a touching story. However, the surprise didn?t end there. Joel Bassam of Easterns Automotive Group also presented the boys with an official Washington Redskins football. The ball contained the signatures of Kirk Cousins, Josh Norman, and Ryan Kerrigan. He also gave them a basketball signed by the Washington Wizards own Bradley Beal. To top it all off, Joel gifted the entire family with tickets to both a Washington Redskins and a Washington Wizards game.

Pay It Forward | Jamahri Sydnor (Memorial Fund)

Eastern Motors and Fox 5 DC recently came together for a very special edition of Pay it Forward. The purpose of this paying it forward to this specific cause was to celebrate a young woman?s personal achievements and contributions to the community as her mother fights to keep her legacy alive. Jamahri Syndor was a very bright student that was preparing for college. She was loved not only by friends and family but also local members of the community. Many would agree with saying that Syndor was truly a special girl. She had just graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School where she was a cheer caption and member of the choir. As of that wasn?t enough, Syndor also found the time to have part-time job, volunteer with kids, and dance in a troupe.

August 10th, 2017 was the day that changed everything. This was the day that Syndor was shot by a stray bullet while driving through northeast D.C. This happened just days before she was scheduled to leave to attend college at Florida A&M University. Syndor passed away two days later and is survived by her mother, Queen Wallace, whom is a veteran police sergeant in the district. This has been quite devastation to the family but they are looking for a memorable way to ?Pay It Forward? through the form of a foundation, scholarship, or dance program.

Fox 5 DC and Easterns Automotive Group received word about what happened to Sydnor and the legacy that she wanted to leave behind so they made a very special donation in her honor. The owner of artist of AA and Beek, Victor Barranco, created a very special memorial to honor Sydnor?s work with the children at Chevy Chase Community Center in northeast D.C. Francesca Scott, who is a program coordinator at the Chevy Chase Community Center accepted the art piece. Scott was able to speak candidly and provide insight as to just how much work Syndor and her sister did the kids. The two had planned and hosted the Valentine?s Day tea party every year for the kids. This story touched the Pay it Forward team so Joel Bassam of Easterns Automotive Group donated a total of $1,500 to the Chevy Chase Community Center to help out with the tea party and other holiday activities. Easterns also donated another $1,500 to the mother of Sydnor to officially kick-start the Jamahri Sydnor Memorial Fund. The overall goal of the fund will be to create a scholarship in Sydnor?s name to help heading to college in the D.C. metro area.

Eastern Motors Jingle Commercial | Brian Orakpo, Jordan Reed, & Bradley Beal

We have a special treat for you all this week! Of course, it?s time for our Throwback Thursday Clip of the Week but this one is special. The stars of this week?s commercial clip are Jordan Reed of the Washington Redskins, Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards, and Brian Orakpo (formerly) of the Washington Redskins. This commercial was shot back in 2014 before Orakpo became a player for the Tennessee Titans. What makes this clip so special is that Easterns had players of both the NBA and NFL in one commercial. People in the community were very excited about this especially because majority of them are die-hard Washington fans period. People in the DMV metro area always show up and support no matter the sport or league. Any athlete that is good at their sport and a respectful individual will always gain the likes of fans in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. Reed, Orakpo, and Beal had such a blast filming this commercial because they were able to get outside their comfort zone. You can see them smirking and dancing while singing the jingle. It?s always refreshing seeing athletes off the field when they can showcase their fun personality. These guys really did make it their own. Who wouldn?t want a car from Easterns after watching this? What a fun shoot!
